Moving Towards...

“Everyday, It’s getting closer, going faster than a roller coaster. A love like yours would surely come my way….”
-James Taylor

Today, December 31st, is my 15 year wedding anniversary. It feels great to reflect back through the years' ins and outs, the joys and hurts and the lessons. They show me that every day, we have an opportunity to move towards something, either consciously or unconsciously.  We choose, either way.

We may go to work, but while our bodies go about daily tasks, our energy has a choice. We can be happy about this, or we can be somber wishing we were somewhere else. We can be cleaning the bathroom or making dinner and be content that we are able to do such things or resent the fact that someone else is not there to do it for us. The key to conscious, forward movement is looking towards where we are going, not forgetting what we have learned as we have come, but yet speaking now, aloud, the intention and thanking it for being, for soon it will be.

Set the pace and the place early, know where you would like to go, and speak it into existence with gratitude. Then, practice this movement throughout the day.  Our intentions can very easily be shot down if they are not set. We are in the world listening to friends and family who are well meaning most of the time. Sometimes our truth gets lost in the fog. But being not of the world, we must listen to Spirit, or we will find ourselves moving forward towards a place we have no business being or have no want to be.

Life is full of distractions that seem OK for us. They will not hurt us necessarily, we tell ourselves. But may we learn to count the days so that we may get a heart of wisdom (Psalms 90:12)  or very quickly that harmless cookie will become a pie and love handles, catching us up in the distractions of life. Let us begin to understand the significance of momentum and our input on this flow.

We do not change our circumstances by constant reflection on the problem. The problem is not in the same direction as the solution! Let us resolve to set towards....the positive attribute goes here this year. Every morning as early as you can, before things start to moving too fast to grasp,

set,
place with gratitude,
and begin practice towards the truth of who you really are.

Your thoughts impact things that become. Make your first thoughts as uplifting as possible. Let love in and move towards (fill in the blank) in 2016 for your good and the good of the collective!
